The Women of Eight Oaks, Part 3: Caitlin Fenstermacher

At the heart of everything we do at Eight Oaks Farm Distillery is our commitment to help make our community a better place.

A part of that is our commitment to the growth of local jobs. We welcome our crew into our family and provide them a career where they can learn and grow.

Caitlin Fenstermacher, or Cait as we call her, has been with us since the Summer of 2016, where she started helping us out part-time with events and bartending.

By December of 2016 she joined us full-time in production as an assistant distiller where she continued to thrive.

Today, Cait is head distiller and production planner. She’s responsible for everything from inventory management to distillation to barreling! What she loves about her work is taking grain and other local ingredients from our farm and the surrounding farms of our neighbors and friends and crafting that into the delicious spirits you’ve come to love, while helping us support local charities along the way.

When she’s not at work, you’ll find her spending time with her husband Jimmy and their four-year-old rescue dog, Mackenzie. If you’ve been out to the Farm Distillery and Kitchen in the summer months the beautiful flowers you see on the tables and barrels are from Cait, who loves picking and arranging them.

How Cait Leads at Eight Oaks

To Cait, being a leader means setting the right example, while guiding and encouraging those around her to strive for the same goal. She believes that, “the victory is so much sweeter when you can celebrate your achievements together.”

Why Cait Works at Eight Oaks

She loves Eight Oaks because of the family-oriented atmosphere, creative workspace to learn new skills, the chance to grow as an individual and as a team, and the community focused mission and values.

A Quote that Guides Her Every Day

"I can't live my life in yesterday," are song lyrics that always stuck with her.

To Cait, “Life moves fast, so don't get hung up in the past because tomorrow is a new day with new opportunities!”

Stay tuned next week for Part Four: The Women of Eight Oaks, where you’ll meet Vicky.

Cheers.
