The Women of Eight Oaks, Part 1: Carly Butters Snyder

At the heart of everything we do at Eight Oaks Farm Distillery is our commitment to help make our community a better place.

One part of that is our commitment to the growth of local jobs. We welcome our crew into our family and provide them a career where they can learn and grow.

Carly Butters Snyder is a driving force behind these efforts at Eight Oaks.

As a part of a military family, Carly spent most of her life moving from one place to the next, until her family planted their roots in New Tripoli, PA, where Carly now lives with her husband Logan, and their daughter Willa James on a cute riverside farm.

Though she now calls PA farmland home, Carly maintains a wanderlust and loves to explore new places every chance she gets.

A lover of the human spirit, Carly always knew she wanted to work closely with her family in a field that connected her with new people every day.

During and after high school she continued to pursue her passion for design, people, and photography, until the opportunity to work closely with those she loved came with the start of Eight Oaks.

Stepping Into A Bigger Leadership Role

In February 2021, after years of holding a variety of roles at Eight Oaks, Carly was promoted to Chief Operating Officer.

According to Founder and CEO Chad Butters, “To continue to meet our purpose I have to make sure we have the right people, doing the right things, for Eight Oaks and more importantly the community. My responsibility is to set us up for future success, and a top priority is having a replacement in place if needed so we don’t skip a beat. The promotion of Carly does just that.”

Carly is all in on her new leadership role, “I’ve been with and fully believed in this company since the very beginning. I’m passionate about a great product, the community-centric values we all have, and the crew that works together to make it all happen. I’m honored to be in a position to help continue the growth of the distillery and our crew as a whole and really look forward to fully embracing this new position in the company!"

Why She Works At Eight Oaks

It comes down to Carly’s passion for family and community. She loves being able to add value to the local community and see the faces of her family (both chosen and otherwise) every day in the workplace.

She also loves the variety her role provides her. She can go from working with the crew to make sure customer experiences are top notch and consistent to the overall environment at all locations, all the way down to the cocktail garnish in a day.

She also works on social content to share the Eight Oaks’ brand authentically with all customers, which gives her even more touch points with the customer.

She does all of this while making sure the crew feels a sense of satisfaction in their work and that they maintain a balance–all with an eye on the strategic direction of Eight Oaks.

A Quote that Guides Her Every Day

“Integrity is choosing courage over comfort; choosing what is right over what is fun, fast, or easy; and choosing to practice our values rather than simply professing them.” ~Brene Brown

Stay tuned next week for Part Two: The Women of Eight Oaks, where we’ll meet Tessa.
