EIGHTOAKS-RYE

Straight Rye Whiskey

A clean and bright whiskey with a hint of dry fruit and honey. One glass and you'll be singing its praises.

Distiller's Notes

Before Bourbon, there was Rye Whiskey which is uniquely Pennsylvanian. Pennsylvania was the center of Rye Whiskey production in the late 1700s and early 1800s. By 1808, Pennsylvania farmers were selling one-half barrels for each man, woman, and child in the country. After prohibition Rye fell out of favor to the sweeter corn whiskey known as Bourbon. Rye is experiencing a huge comeback and we are proud to be part of it!

Milled, mashed, and distilled onsite, our double-distilled Straight Rye Whiskey is barrel aged at 60%ABV/120 Proof in one of our non-temperature regulated barrel barns, leaving the temperature changes up to the Pennsylvania climate. Selected two years-old barrels  are blended and bottled. Noticeable spiciness due to the high rye content.
